Veterans' Initiatives

Oklahoma’s military community makes up nearly 10 percent of all state residents. Oklahoma Contemporary’s program aims to engage veterans in creative practice, leading to increases in self-confidence and community engagement. Creating art can make it possible for veterans to communicate what is difficult to put into words. We employ professional artists to work with veterans and to show them both the technical and conceptual aspects of creative practice.
