Dan O’Donoghue joined Oklahoma Contemporary in April 2019 as the Associate Director of Development. Dan focuses on growing individual giving, annual funding and membership and also supports the general fundraising efforts of the Development department.
Before Oklahoma Contemporary, he spent nine years at the second-largest art museum in the United States, the Art Institute of Chicago. He started as a temporary employee selling memberships in the lobby and finished as the Director of Donor Revenue and Strategy. His team routinely surpassed their annual $10 million dollar revenue goal, produced over 1.5 million pieces of mail annually and stewarded a 100,000 member program.
Dan grew up in Oklahoma City’s historic Gatewood neighborhood, attended Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts and a Minor in Art History. Immediately after college, he worked in the art department with feature films before moving to Chicago. He continues his artistic pursuits today as a freelance illustrator and is currently completing his first children’s book.
From a young age, Dan has had a passion for the arts and is excited to be part of Oklahoma Contemporary during this defining period of growth and civic engagement.
