
As manager of youth programs and engagement at Oklahoma Contemporary, Kauʻi Kanahele develops inclusive, art-centered programming that connects young people, families and communities through creativity. She oversees initiatives including Camp Contemporary, Second Saturday, the Learning Gallery and the first-floor hallway gallery, creating spaces where curiosity and expression bloom.
With over eight years of nonprofit experience, Kauʻi brings a deep understanding of community engagement and arts education. Her background is rooted in artistic practice, with experience in graphic design, murals, teaching and program development. Whether designing curriculum or curating space, she blends creativity with care to make the arts more accessible and empowering for youth.
Kauʻi’s connection to Oklahoma Contemporary began as a camper, an experience that sparked her passion for the arts and youth empowerment. She earned her BFA from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2018, with an emphasis in sculpture. Her artistic engagement continues to inform her work across education, design and community programming.
