Director of Communications Lori Brooks has a background in public relations, marketing and journalism. Her resume includes stints on the copy desks of The Albuquerque Tribune and The Seattle Times, director of communications for a college at the University of Oklahoma and work with collegiate journalists and media professionals nationwide. As associate executive director of College Media Association, Lori planned and executed marketing, branding, public relations, awards and events for the organization, including management of two national conventions, workshops and other educational opportunities.
Lori also served as associate director and features adviser at OU Student Media, where she oversaw features publications and students. Her staffs created the top-ranked Sooner yearbook and multiple niche products for a variety of audiences. She also handled recruiting, outreach and communication for Student Media and managed strategic planning for projects such as circulation of The Oklahoma Daily.
Lori has written, edited, designed and managed newspapers, magazines and websites and dramatically increased engagement on social media. Most of her career has been spent working for and with nonprofits. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in news communication from the University of Oklahoma.
