As director of operations, Matthew Robertson is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the arts center, ensuring the seamless execution of exhibitions, programs and visitor experience. This position manages departments including facilities, security and visitor experience while working closely with senior leadership to support strategic planning and institutional goals. Matthew ensures operational efficiency, fosters a welcoming and safe environment for all visitors and staff, and upholds the art center’s commitment to excellence in contemporary art and public engagement.
Matthew graduated with a BFA in contemporary sculpture from the University of Oklahoma College of Fine Arts in 2008. He brings a wealth of experience from the hospitality industry, including restaurant and retail management. Most recently, Matthew worked as an oil and gas professional, traveling across the country for mineral ownership and leasing.
The Oklahoma City local is thrilled to have artwork and artists at the center of his world again and could not be more proud to work for Oklahoma Contemporary. Outside of traveling as an oil and gas landman, Matthew has called Santa Barbara, Calif.; Brooklyn, N.Y.; and Reykjavik, Iceland home.
