
Steve Boyd is a museum professional with more than 20 years’ experience. As exhibitions manager, Steve oversees exhibition planning and implementation, including managing a robust public art program at Campbell Art Park on the site of our new campus at NW 11th and Broadway. In addition to his work at Oklahoma Contemporary, Steve conducts a private practice that includes the cleaning and preservation of public artworks, including outdoor bronzes at the state capitol.
Prior to joining the Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center team, Steve worked at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum as assistant registrar and chief preparator, overseeing exhibition design, lighting and installation. Additionally, he has a background in visual merchandising along with furniture design and fabrication.
Steve studied history and museum studies and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in addition to training at the prestigious International Preservation Studies Center. He has taught exhibition workshops for the Oklahoma Museums Association and is active in the local arts community, having served as a volunteer and committee member for such organizations as Arts Council of Oklahoma City, Allied Arts, Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, Oklahoma City Museum of Art and Norman Firehouse Art Center, among others.
Steve lives in The Village with his wife and daughter.
