Showroom at Oklahoma Contemporary
1146 N. Broadway Dr. | Oklahoma City
Monday-Tuesday: by appointment only
11 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday
Designed by HSEarchitects, Oklahoma Contemporary’s Showroom is situated in four repurposed shipping containers, overlooking Campbell Art Park. The Showroom offers information about and a look at Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center’s future home, being constructed next door at NW 11th and Broadway.
Currently located at State Fair Park, Oklahoma Contemporary is building a new campus next to the Showroom site. Offering production, performance and presentation facilities, the center will become an arts beacon for the city, region and beyond.
The Showroom is as a resource for anyone who wants to learn about Oklahoma Contemporary and its future and to be part of the contemporary cultural moment.
Outside the Showroom, visitors will find Curiosities Light, an infinity light box by artist Phillip Danner. The installation is an expression of the artist's belief that Oklahoma Contemporary has a bright future ahead, full of endless possibilities. Fabricated in collaboration with violin maker Arsenios Corbishley, the installation uses mirrors and LED lighting to create an optical illusion that is most mesmerizing at night. "Curiosities Light is based on the infinite power of the creative mind," Danner said, "the abstract portal into the endless capabilities of an artist's imagination."
