In light of the COVID-19 public health crisis, Oklahoma Contemporary has postponed the opening of our new home, including Studio School, Camp Contemporary and Public Programs.
We appreciate your understanding as we navigate this ongoing situation, and we look forward to welcoming you soon. In the meantime, please explore the all-ages virtual and digital programs on our blog, New Light.
Oklahoma Contemporary believes that school group visits contribute to the development of stronger critical-thinking skills, empathy and curiosity about art and culture. When students are encouraged to express themselves and take risks in discussing and creating art, they awaken their imaginations and develop their creative and innovative potential. School group visits offer opportunities for students to interpret and use visual and sensory information, build knowledge independently and with one another, and develop an interest in artistic production.
The School Group Visit program will be open to all public, private, charter and homeschooled students. For grades 3-12, students will participate in an inquiry- and dialogue-based gallery visit facilitated by trained Gallery Guides. Upon request, schools can add an interactive studio activity component.
School group visits will be scheduled Wednesday – Friday starting at 10 a.m. Due to limited capacity, Oklahoma Contemporary will restrict the number of students each day but will work with the school coordinator to identify available days and times.
