Come make weird music with us. No experience neccesary! For real.
Build your own mini synth, the Atari Goth Console—a variation of a circuit designed by Forrest Mims, who had zero formal training in electronics!
The Atari Goth Console creates weird and beautiful sounds. It’s the perfect way to start building sound-making circuits. Learn to solder, wire and make circuits, and figure out modifications for even sounds.
Best of all you'll learn how to troubleshoot when things aren't working because anyone who has every made anything knows there's that part when nothing works and you can't figure out why, and you want to give up and hurl your project out of a fast-moving car. But there's no need for that. It's all gonna be fine because your teacher knows what they're doing and they are here to help you and your Atari Goth Console succeed.
Is goth console the best Tinder/Grindr/Hinge bio? Yes. Would you like to start referring to yourself as a goth console? I would and I don't know why you haven't started already.
Anyhow.
After learning about the components, getting good with the tools, building the mini synth, making sure it works and then modifying it, you’ll be fully equipped to keep on keepin’ on, building anything from guitar pedals to grand modular synthesizer systems.
THAT'S RIGHT I SAID MAKE YOUR OWN GUITAR PEDAL, YOU BEAUTIFUL GOTH CONSOLE.
