Oklahoma Contemporary offers the very best in fiber arts classes, workshops and opportunities for independent exploration. Located in The Studios building, the Fiber Art Studio features many floor and frame looms, as well as materials and equipment for dyeing. Fiber Arts instructors also offer courses in embroidery, sewing and other creative and contemporary applications of fiber traditions.

Tuition for multi-week courses does not include materials. When signing up for a class, all students agree to abide by the policies set forth in the Student Handbook.
Eight-Week Class | A Weaving A Week!

Learn to weave on a frame loom. Each class you’ll create a new weaving that helps you remember (or forget!) something that happened the previous week. It’s like a sketchbook or a journal but instead of paper, you’ll use a frame loom and thread. What you weave can be as mundane (best meal, text, cloud pattern, concert, vacation) or as fantastic (Worst. Date. Ever.) as you want. It’s a fun way to look back on the previous week or get excited about the week ahead.

Open Studio time is included with registration. Open Studio allows currently enrolled students to work on their projects in Oklahoma Contemporary’s studios outside of class meetings. Availability varies weekly, and times are posted outside each studio.

Design and weave your own rug using t-shirts, towels, cloth scraps and fabric. Make something practical, beautiful and sentimental while feeling superior about your creative reuse of stuff you didn’t want to throw away but didn’t know what to do with, like kids’ clothes or all those concert t-shirts that judge you every time you open the dresser.
