|In this course open to all levels, discover the joy of weaving on a four-shaft loom. We’ll cover weaving foundations: how to set up a loom, how to understand basic weave patterns (plain weave and twill variations), and how to create proper structure and develop good weaving habits. Every student will have their own loom for the duration of the class as well outside of class, during Open Studio* sessions.
Beginning weavers will create a cotton sampler. Intermediate and advanced weavers are welcome to join this small class and work on independent projects.
Additional fees due on the first day of class: Beginners pay a material fee of $27 plus tax, payable by credit card only. Intermediate and advanced students pay a $7 loom maintenance fee.
*Open Studio allows currently enrolled students to work on their projects in Oklahoma Contemporary’s studios outside of class meetings. Times vary weekly and may be booked two weeks in advance. See Open Studio Times here.
