Build on skills acquired in Sewing Fundamentals. Learn advanced sewing techniques, such as darts, ruffles, pleats and other shaping techniques, curved sewing, top stitching, lining, creating and using buttonholes, and understanding and utilizing all types of zippers and elastics.
An instructor-provided kit ($63) including materials as well as three of Amber’s favorite sewing tools, must be purchased on the first night of class. Beyond the required kit, you will need additional fabric and notions. Other required supplies: a serviced sewing machine, electric cord, foot pedal, machine manual and all tools, feet and accessories that came with your machine. Any additional needs will be discussed in class.
If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can rent one through Studio School. Daily rentals are $12. Four-week rentals are $40 and eight-week rentals are $80.

Open Studio time is included with registration. Open Studio allows currently enrolled students to work on their projects in Oklahoma Contemporary’s studios outside of class meetings. Availability varies weekly, and times are posted outside each studio.
