You must be familiar with your sewing machine and the basics of sewing prior to enrolling in this class.
It is highly encouraged to take Sewing Fundamentals prior to this course, but not required. In this relaxed approach to quilting techniques, you’ll learn a simple quilt block pattern and the basics of machine quilt construction from start to finish.
Required supplies:
• a notebook and pen for notes
• a serviced sewing machine, electric cord, foot pedal, machine manual, all tools, feet, and accessories that came with your machine, and a ¼” quilting/piecing foot.
• If you don’t have a sewing machine, Studio School has a limited number of machines for rent. Daily rentals are $20. Eight-week rentals are $120 or $200 depending on brand choice. You can pay for your machine on the first day of class.
• Download your course syllabus and required materials list here.
• If one class is postponed due to weather or unforeseen instructor circumstances, the rain date is December 2.
Open Studio time is included with registration. Open Studio allows currently enrolled students to work on their projects in Oklahoma Contemporary’s studios outside of class meetings. Times vary weekly.
