This is an advanced course with the following required prerequisites: Sewing Fundamentals, Sewing Fundamentals Expanded, Garment Construction.
This advanced course covers how to properly measure, tailor, alter, repair, and deconstruct clothes for pattern making. You will also strengthen your skills in modify existing patterns.
Required supplies: a notebook and pen for notes, a serviced sewing machine, electric cord, foot pedal, machine manual, all tools, feet, and accessories that came with your machine.
• Students will purchase a course kit ($38) that includes a simple pattern and three of Amber’s favorite sewing tools, which aid in proper construction. Students will need some additional fabric and notions beyond what is supplied in the kit (these will be thoroughly discussed in class.
• Supplies required: a serviced sewing machine, electric cord, foot pedal, machine manual and all tools, feet and accessories that came with your machine.
• If you don’t have a sewing machine, Studio School has a limited number of machines for rent. Daily rentals are $15. Four-week rentals are $60 and eight-week rentals are $110.
• Reserve and pay for an 8-week sewing machine rental by clicking here. Your machine will be waiting for you on the first day of class. Easy peasy.
• Shorter term sewing machine rentals are dependent on availability. If machines are available, you can rent them from the front desk at Studio School.

• If one class is postponed due to weather or unforeseen instructor circumstances, the rain date is December 10.

Open Studio time is included with registration. Open Studio allows currently enrolled students to work on their projects in Oklahoma Contemporary’s studios outside of class meetings. Availability varies weekly, and times are posted outside each studio.
