Florescent colors, organic shapes and experimentation will be the focus of this camp! Inspired by the instructors’ own art work and processes, you’ll experience a new printmaking technique each day —enhanced with neon lights. By week’s end, you’ll go home with several vibrant art pieces sure to brighten up any space.

During this week of digital instruction, you’ll draw yourself, pets and family members as fun and silly CARTOONS! You will learn and practice the four-step process used by many illustration professionals. To celebrate your newly learned skills, your original cartoon design will be printed on a souvenir keepsake.

OOF! Inspired by the current exhibition on view, Ed Ruscha: OKLA, use text as a tool to create mixed-media pieces that emphasize the power of words coupled with the influence of visual art. You’ll also have the opportunity to read contemporary poetry and create your own play-on-words sayings. At week’s end, take home a finished artwork that expresses and joins your thoughts with visual artistic talents.

Use our natural world to create vibrant dyes and paints. Explore different dyeing methods with a variety of plant and food materials while learning about and creating earth-friendly upcycled works of art. At weeks end, you'll take away a multitude of fabric dyed creations.

Creative Robotics introduces the elemental concepts of artistic engineering through simple engineering and algorithmic exploration. Learn the basics of functional coding, creative designing and the If-Then-Else approach to problem solving. Learn to identify the stages of common mechanical engineering, collective creation and team-based development.

While studying contemporary mosaic artworks, you’ll learn the basics of ceramic tile making and the process of mosaic assemblage. You’ll also practice painting clay with colored slip and underglaze. By week’s end, you’ll take home several finished ceramic mosaic art pieces.

During this camp, you’ll look at Chakaia Booker’s Shaved Portions, opening in Campbell Art Park this summer, while exploring the wonderous world of abstract sculptures. Beginning with sketching our ideas, you’ll sculpt non-representational and representational 3-D artworks with an array of materials from foamboard to found materials. Don’t miss your chance to create something truly unique and unforgettable.
