art_work_2022: The Oklahoma Contemporary Staff Exhibition

Oklahoma Contemporary's employees are not required to be artists, but it’s no surprise that we attract the creative type.

art_work_2022 was comprised of work showcasing the wide variety of talent and artistic practices of Oklahoma Contemporary staff. From poetry and paintings to upcycled fashion and sculptural installations, this cross-disciplinary exhibition revolved around the theme of a “happy place.” Whether the concept was demonstrated through a location, item, or event, each work explored what gives the artists a sense of calm, perspective, joy, or peace.

Oklahoma Contemporary’s mission is to encourage artistic expression in all its forms. art_work_2022 focused a lens on the many ways our staff apply this mission to their own creative practices. This was the first exhibition for many of these artists, and we hope this hall brought a bit of happiness for them and for you.
