Get Those Words Outta Yer Head

Overview

tuesdays, Nov. 3 - Dec. 1
6 - 8 p.m.

Main Building | Devon Energy Teen Studio

Do you feel like that fox when you write?

This four-week class will help you get stuff out of your head and onto paper. We don't mean stuff like grocery lists (but you could write a poem/play/short story/novel about radishes and Oreos?), but ideas you've been meaning or trying to do something with. Learn to clarify your ideas, understand fundamentals like character, tone, and narrative arc and end up with something great like a screenplay about an Oreo who loves radishes but is ashamed to admit their fondness for vegetables and has to overcome Orea bullying to realize true radish love.

Or, something much much better.

At the very least you'll look foxy (too much? ((no! not too much, everyone wants to look foxy)) ) plus Zach is such a great instructor you'll stand on your hind legs looking cute with your quill and the ideas will flow!

This class is perfect for writers of fiction, non-fiction, plays, podcasts, poems, whatever!  Have some fun and stop carrying all those heavy words around in your head. This class is a great companion to our other creative writing class, Stop Worrying; Start Writing.

No class on Nov. 24.

If one class is postponed due to weather or unforeseen instructor circumstances, the rain date is Dec. 8.

Open Studio time is included with registration. Open Studio allows currently enrolled students to work on their projects in Oklahoma Contemporary’s studios outside of class meetings. Availability varies weekly, and times are posted outside each studio.
