Fiber Arts | Eight-Week Class

Serged Garment Construction

Overview

wednesdays, Sep. 30 - Nov. 18
6 - 9 p.m.

The Studios Building | Josie Eresch Fibers Studio

REQUIRED Prerequisites: Garment Construction, Serger Fundamentals
This course expands upon the skills acquired in Serging Fundamentals by exploring the basics of garment construction on the serger. Students will further explore how to operate the serger, and learn advanced techniques by creating a capsule collection of four garments. Through completing instructor led projects, students will gain proper garment construction skills, advance serging techniques, work with more challenging fabrics, and receive mid level patterns to keep. This course is designed to further develop the skills needed to succeed in serging and understand when the use of a sewing machine is required versus a serger during construction. A sewing machine will be required for some finishing techniques.

Students must have taken Serging Fundamentals and Garment Construction prior to enrolling in this class.

A serger is required to take this course
