As events manager, Paige Powell promotes, manages and executes all private event rentals in spaces across Oklahoma Contemporary’s campus. She works closely with staff to provide operational support and hospitality for events and programming.
After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in film and media studies, Paige spent a decade as a wedding videographer and photographer, bringing her production and wedding expertise to Oklahoma Contemporary.
Paige began her career in the Oklahoma City arts community at the Paseo Arts Association where she wore a multitude of hats, specifically finding joy in managing their two galleries and producing major events like the historic Paseo Arts Festival. After five years of service to the organization, she started her own creative business but remains involved within the district. She founded and operates Makers at the Market, a monthly First Friday night market for local artists and creators.
A lifelong Oklahoman, Paige's work is driven by a passion for making Oklahoma a welcoming, vibrant and sustainable place for artists to live and work. She is a founding member of Sunny Dayz Mural festival, Oklahoma’s first mural festival for female and non-binary artists that travels to a different city every year, drawing artists from across the world. Paige has served on local nonprofit event committees like the Plaza District Festival, OVAC Momentum and Uptown Outside.
When she isn't making creative events happen, you can find Paige tending to her hundreds of house plants, thrift shopping for vintage clothes or finding any reason to spend time outdoors with her dog, Lexie.
