As director of finance for Oklahoma Contemporary, Shanell Taylor's role is multifaceted and integral to the overall success and financial well-being of the organization. She is responsible for overseeing various financial aspects to ensure that the art institution operates efficiently and meets its financial objectives.
One of her primary responsibilities is budgeting and financial planning. Shanell works closely with all departments within Oklahoma Contemporary to develop a comprehensive budget that encompasses all aspects of our operations, from art exhibitions and acquisitions to marketing initiatives and staffing requirements. This involves forecasting and allocating resources strategically to support the arts center's artistic vision and goals.
A lifelong Oklahoman, Shanell grew up with a love of the arts and helping others. She volunteers with many local organizations including the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and OKC Zoo. Shanell takes pride in respecting and appreciating the diversity of individuals and cultures, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued and included.
Shanell holds a master’s degree in management from Southern Nazarene University, and she has over 20 years of accounting and management experience in the public, private, government and educational arenas.
