Joe Cox

Joe Cox received his bachelor's degree in art with an emphasis in ceramics from Oklahoma Baptist University. He also holds a Master of Education in Adult Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. For the past 20 years, Joe has taught ceramics to his students at Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. Joe has taught adult ceramics with an emphasis in throwing at the Firehouse Art Center in Norman. As a potter and artist, Joe’s emphasis has been throwing functional ware. “I love to create items that can be used every day. The relationship that develops between a person and an object like a favorite mug or bowl has always intrigued me.” Joe’s teaching philosophy is that everyone should know the joy of creating. Working with clay facilitates this.
