ARTS LAB: Summer Gallery Visits
ARTS LAB: Summer Gallery Visits offer youth camps, community organizations, and university groups the opportunity to explore contemporary art through guided discussion and creative observation in the galleries at Oklahoma Contemporary.
During each visit, students engage directly with artworks in our current exhibitions alongside a gallery guide. Our inquiry-based approach centers student voices and encourages thoughtful questioning, backed by museum education best practices and research.
Summer Gallery Visits are available during the months of June and July and are designed for groups seeking an engaging arts experience during the summer season.
Full ARTS LAB: Field Trips, including hands-on studio artmaking, are available August through May during the academic year.

Grade Levels
Grades K–12 and university groups
Pre-K groups are not eligible for Summer Gallery Visits.
Reservations
Reservations must be made at least one week in advance.
Pricing
10-24 participants = $100
25-35 participants = $150
Scholarships are available for groups experiencing financial need.
Nonprofit pricing is available upon request.

Program fees must be paid at the front desk in the lobby upon arrival.

What to Expect During Your Visit
Each Summer Gallery Visit includes guided exploration of select artworks and opportunities for students to respond creatively within the galleries.
Visits typically include:
Guided discussion with trained gallery guides
Close looking and collaborative conversation
Short in-gallery drawing or observation-based activity
Reflection and group sharing
These experiences support creative thinking, visual literacy, and student engagement with contemporary art.
Important Policies
Cancellation Policy
Reservations must be canceled at least 48 hours in advance.
Arrival
Groups should arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled visit time to allow for check-in.
Lunch and Snacks
Groups are not able to eat on site during Summer Gallery Visits. Studio and lunch spaces are reserved for Camp Contemporary participants during the summer months.
How to Schedule a Visit
To request an ARTS LAB: Summer Gallery Visit, complete the online request form and share a few details about your group, including preferred dates and times.
Reservations are confirmed based on availability, and we recommend submitting your request at least one week in advance to secure your ideal visit.
Once your form is submitted, an Oklahoma Contemporary staff member will follow up by email to confirm your visit date, time, and any final details to help you prepare.
