The Studios Building | Lynda and Chuck Nelson Wheel Throwing Studio

Are you 13-16 and want to learn to use the potter's wheel?

In 6 weeks, you'll learn how to throw a bowl (like, on the wheel, not picking up any bowl and chucking it against the wall) and how to glaze and apply surface techniques.

The cost of the class includes one bag of clay. All other ceramic tools will be provided for use while in the Studio. Wear clothes that are okay to get a bit of clay on.

If one class is postponed due to weather or unforeseen instructor circumstances, the rain date is Nov. 6.

Open Studio time is included with registration. Open Studio allows currently enrolled students to work on their projects in Oklahoma Contemporary’s studios outside of class meetings. Availability varies weekly, and times are posted outside each studio.

We have reserved special teen-only open studio on Friday afternoons from 2:30-5:30. Teens are welcome to use Open Studio at other times but those times will be open to the entire community of Studio School. The Friday afternoon slot is specifically reserved for our teen class.
