The Uniqueness of Light: An ArtDesk Conversation
About
This event will be held at the Belle Isle Library.
Join us for an ArtDesk Conversation inspired by several current and upcoming projects at Oklahoma Contemporary, including an ongoing partnership with the Kirkpatrick Foundation and the Metropolitan Library System through the Oklahoma Contemporary Art Reference Library, Chad Mount: Frequency and Perspective, and a forthcoming collaboration between the Metropolitan Library and the Thoma Foundation to present Flight Simulator. Moderated by Oklahoma Contemporary's executive director, Trent Riley, this event will feature panelists Chad Mount, Amy Hoagland, and Meagan Robson of the Thoma Foundation discussing the subtle and powerful force of light in art, and its rise through the 20th and 21st centuries.
Together, these projects invite audiences to consider how artists shape our understanding of the world through perception, experience, memory, and perspective. While working across different mediums and generations, each participant explores a central question: How can art help us see familiar realities differently?
