Camp Contemporary

Camps and workshops for 5- to 12-year-olds provide exciting studio experiences across artistic disciplines. Area teaching artists and experienced art instructors facilitate studio activities and projects inspired by contemporary artistic practice from painting, drawing and sculpture to ceramics, performance, poetry, filmmaking, robotics and animation.


Spring Session: March 18-22, 2019

Member registration opens: Feb. 4, 2019 at 10 a.m.

General registration opens: Feb. 11, 2019 at 10 a.m.

All registration closes: March 10, 2019 at 11:59 p.m.


Extra Care | $50/week

Extra Care provides additional care to campers before and after camp hours.
Monday-Friday 8-9 a.m.
Monday-Thursday 4-6 p.m.

Upcycled Printmaking

Use upcycled and recyclable materials to create a story through printmaking. Explore foil lithography, collage collagraphs and foam monoprints. Join this journey into green printmaking!

Light Up Robotics

This camp is inspired by artist Erwin Redl whose outdoor installation Whiteout is currently on view in Campbell Art Park. Work with LED lights and LEGO kits while learning teamwork, ethics and the basics of electrical applications.

Clay Sculptures

Experiment with a variety of clay methods, handbuilding techniques and surface finishes. Influenced by exhibiting artist Erwin Redl, explore how lighting effects can be combined with clay.

Influenced by exhibiting artist Tatyana Fazlalizadeh, learn how individual ideas can be used to spark change. Create individual and collaborative pieces that will be wheatpasted onto the studio walls. By week's end, students will experience and recognize how art can impact the lives of others in their community.
